The public is advised to avoid routes heading into Dataran Merdeka in anticipation of traffic congestion.
Roads are expected to be closed around these areas:
1. Maybank Bangsar
2. Brickfields
3. National Mosque and National Museum
4. Jalan Parlimen and Bank Negara
5. Pudu Sentral and Central Market
6. PWTC and Chow Kit
The road closure was announced by Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Amar Singh in a press conference today.
Meanwhile, police will open 58 diversions to ensure smooth traffic during the closure of the roads involved.
