BERSIH 2.0 has fixed November 19 for the fifth installment of the demonstration, Maria Chin Abdullah said today.

The head of the electoral reform group said, Bersih will embark on a nationwide tour, 'Bersih Konvoi' starting October 1.

Maria also said that that for the latest edition of Bersih, the group has five demands including clean and fair elections, parliamentary democracy, a clean government and the rights to dissent and empower Sabah and Sarawak.

"The objective of the Bersih convoy is to raise awareness about Bersih 5's demands for the instituitional reforms and the severity of the 1MDB crisis.

“As Malaysians, we must stand up and reach out to start a nationwide conversation on these issues because our collective future is in danger," she told reporters at a press conference, here today.

The Bersih Convoy will be launched across the nation with the flag-off to take place simultaneously in six regions namely Kangar, Johor Bahru, Kota Bahru, Lumut, Sandakan and Miri, with an estimate to cover about 246 cities, towns and villages.

The convoy will take seven weeks to complete before converging in Kuala Lumpur.
