Bersih 4 organisers, the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih 2.0) on Saturday urged the police to take action against participants who disobeyed the rules.

Vice chairman, Thomas Fann said there were several participants who had tried to ram the barriers which had been set up around the city centre.

"We want a peaceful rally and we will try to control the situation," he told a police officer who stood behind a barrier located in front of the Kuala Lumpur City Theatre.

He said, Bersih 2.0 will ensure the rally is carried out peacefully and participants do not cross into Dataran Merdeka.

Previously, Bersih 2.0 chairman, Maria Chin Abdullah said she condemns and prohibits participants from any acts of vandalism against public property.

She also urged participants not to resort to violence or provocation from any party.

Bersih 2.0 also stressed that participants are prohibited from bringing weapons and explosives, including firecrackers and smoke bombs to the rally.
