Committees of houses of worship have been urged to be vigilant and try to protect and safeguard their respective premises from being the target of Daish militants.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem said this was because the militant group had not only targeted at churches, but also mosques and temples.

He said this was evident after several mosques in other countries, including in Syria and Arab countries, were also attacked by Daish militants.

As such, Riot also advised the committees to immediately lodge police reports should they see any suspicious individuals in the area of their houses of worship.

Riot said this in his speech at the Aidilfitri do at the Miftahul Jannah Mosque in Kampung Muara Mongkos, 110 km from Kuching.

The minister said the recent attack launched by Daesh members in Puchong, Selangor, had also proved that the group had made Malaysia one of their targets.

"Their victims are not just Christians, but also Muslims who didn't agree with their deviant ideology," Riot said.
