UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor today reminded UMNO members to be constantly alert andcareful especiallyto the provocation and manipulation by certain quarters.

“Let us not be influenced by the manipulation and provocation by them," he said in a statement on BNBBC portal.

He also called on party men to be wary of the Opposition who are constantly looking for opportunities to attack the unity of party members.

On the recent attacks and allegations levelled at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak recently, Tengku Adnan called on UMNO members to be calm and think rationally.

"We should be offering undivided support to the leadership and give him the room to think of his next course of action for the benefit of our religion, race and nation," he added.

In moving forward, Tengku Adnan also called on UMNO members to continue focussing on the party's struggles.

Najib has been facing heavy criticisms following the Wall Street Journal's allegations last Friday that 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) funds were channeled to his personal accounts.

Calls are also getting louder for Najib to take legal action against the articles.

Najib said he had become the victim of relentless attacks on social medialately includingaccusations that he had embezzled money.

"In the last couple of days, they have come up with all kinds of news. I have become the victim of their relentless attacks, even accusing me of embezzling a huge amount of money.

He reiterated that as an elected prime minister, he would never betray the people.

Last Friday, the WSJ published a reportclaimedthat US$700 million in funds belonging to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) was channeled into the premier's personal account before the 13th General Election (GE13).

1MDB denied the allegations and insisted that no funds were transferred into Najib's personal account.
