Astro has assured that there will be no disruption to any of its broadcast services, as it has taken all the necessary measures after one employee tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement to Astro AWANI, the broadcasting company said the employee who was tested positive for the virus on April 5 is currently receiving medical attention at a government hospital.

As a precaution, Astro is conducting a thorough sanitisation of the headquarters in Bukit Jalil and other common facilities, in accordance with safety and health guidelines.

"We will continue to take the necessary measures as long as they are required as the safety of our staff is paramount to us," said the statement.

Detailed contact tracing has also been carried out to identify and inform those who had direct contact with the employee.

Astro also said that aside from routinely sanitising the offices, employees who are still operating from Bukit Jalil have been provided with personal protection equipment.

Since March 18, Astro has divided its employees to work off-site as well as working from home.
