"In conjunction with Teachers Day, I am dedicating this tribute to 'Sir' Tunku Adaham Tunku Zainol Rashid. As a proud Michaelian, it is difficult for me to repay Tunku Adaham, who not only led us to do our best in examinations but he prepared me to face the world. Sir, everything you said to me is true. Thank you, Sir" - Ashwad Ismail, Anchor/Editor

Myfavouriteteacher is Puan Azizah, who taught Chemistry. Truth be told, I wasn't really good at the subject. She never gave up on me. Constantly, thinking out of the box, she created a system to identify the weak students and spent time after school to provide us with extra lessons. After she was diagnosed with cancer, she still made it a point to teach. A year ago, she passed on. Her legacy lives. - MaisarahAtan, Assistant Producer/Kini Trending Section

"Myfavouriteteacher is Miss Jaya, who taught Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. She paid more attention to me during her lessons as I was one of the weaker students. I actually did quite well in my Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia for her subject. Who would have thought I could pass my Add Maths, but she made ithappenfor me. Thank you, Miss Jaya! - KohilahSekaran, Reporter/Social media/Kini Trending Section

"He reminded me to be a good person and to look after my health by doing regular exercise. This was the most useful advice by Mr Abdul Rahman Bakri, my primary school teacher. I followed his advice and dabbled in sports. Thank you, Mr Abdul Rahman!" - Syaharizal Kamalul Ariffin, broadcast journalist/anchor

"I don't have a particularfavouriteteacher. One particular teacher, Mr Yuzzini Abu Bakar has a special place in my heart. He was special. As most teachers do, pushing their students to strive for the best to excel in examinations, he opted a different approach to motivate us. He was a cool teacher, a man of not so many words.

He was a true advocate of the saying, 'actions speak louder than words'. He made sure that I understood the definition of success -- to enjoy whatever you do in life. To Kusessians (a term to call students of SM Sains Kuala Selangor & alumni), he's a legend!" - Israr Khalid, broadcast journalist

"There were memorable 'moments' when I was in school back in my hometown. I watched my book 'fly' after it was thrown from athird floorwindow, landing beside my headmaster's room. Not only that, I was also punished by having to do math exercises outside my classroom.

Looking back, I must say that these werethe funny yetmemorable moments during my schooling days. It was Mr Megat MohdKassim whomotivated me to do my best in mathematics during my UPSR examination in 2003. Thank you, Mr Megat of SK Methodist ACS Ipoh!" - Harits Asyraf Hasnan, broadcast journalist

"My class teacher who was also my English teacher, Pn Mastinee is myfavouriteteacher who always took time to visit my family during Deepavali. A strictteacher butI owed it to her for my English today. It wasstrictly Englishduring her class.Otherwise, wehad to pay a fine of 50 sen for each non-English word.

puan mastinee, 4 rajin, 2001.

Each time she entered the class, she made the students sit in mixed race-groups. She was strict about 'Indians only' or 'Malay only' clusters in the classroom.

It was a bit frustrating not being able to sit beside a friend at that time, but now I appreciate what she tried to instill in us.

If not for her, the students in her class would probably not have made friends from other races. - Bharati Supramaniam, media librarian
