The daughter of former Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today asked for full access to visit her father when he is due to be admitted to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) next week.

Nurul Nuha said Anwar is expected to be warded on Tuesday following his health condition which is said to be deteriorating.

According to The Malaysian Insider, Sungai Petani MP Datuk Johari Abdul urged Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to allow Anwar to be warded for as long as he is required to in the hospital.

“The government’s failure to grant this wish is against Anwar’s rights in getting a fair medical treatment,” he said at a press conference held at PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.

Besides Nurul Nuha, also present during the press conference were Anwar’s two other daughters, PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah and Nurul Hana.

Anwar's lawyer R. Sivarasa reported that he has lost 6kg since his imprisonment.

He is currently serving a five-year jail sentence for his second sodomy conviction.

The Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat and Opposition Leader title, which was previously held by Anwar, is replaced by his wife who is also PKR President Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
