"Am I not human, that my rights as a victim are denied by human rights groups?”

This is the cry of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's former aide Saiful Bukhari Azlan in a statement made in his blog today, a year since his trial against Anwar ended.

Mohd Saiful said other countries and international bodies have been fighting for Anwar using ‘human rights’ however none had thought about his ‘human rights’.

"Maybe in today’s world, the reality is upside down. Humans will defend those who are important to them, those with power, influence and wealth, and not a ‘small fry' like me... is this the culture that we want to cultivate?” he asked.

He also urged outsiders, foreign countries and international bodies not to believe the agenda by Anwar’s supporters’ in labelling him as a ‘political prisoner’.

“I would like to inform you that that he is not a 'political prisoner'.

"Instead, he is a 'criminal prisoner'. This has nothing to do with democratic oppression. Stop giving support and funds because these are blatant lies," he said.

Mohd Saiful also wished Anwar good health and ‘peace’ in prison.

Anwar was sentenced to five years imprisonment in February 2015 for sodomizing Mohd Saiful, who was 23- year-old when the offense was committed in 2008.
