Muslims in the country have been urged to be level-headed and intelligent in handling any provocations and in accord with Islamic teachings to avoid frictions between race and religion.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, said it is not necessary for a wrongdoing to be repaid with evil doings; instead it is only noble to offer them (the perpetrators) with prayers for them to obtain proper guidance from Allah.

According to Jamil Khir, Prophet Muhammad S.A.W was viciously slandered by his perpetrators, but he never took revenge for he hoped his enemies would change for the better and embrace Islam eventually.

“I also hope that fellow Muslims in the country are highly rational, intellectual and adopt the Prophet Muhammad’s teachings ... yes, he was slandered so many times but he stood tall in protecting the sacred and at the same time, he judiciously upheld the moral of the religion as best as he could,” said Jamil, at the launch of Hari Potensi Tabika Kemas dan Pencegahan Jenayah Daerah Yan held here on Saturday.

He was referring to the latest Facebook post by Alvin Tan, the controversial blogger who is allegedly in the United States, which had incurred the wrath of Muslims in the country.

Recently, Alvin uploaded a scathing status, boasting the word ‘Allah’ on the back of his thigh. The controversial blogger had also allegedly threatened to rape the daughter of a leader who had questioned those who participated in the Bersih 4 rally recently.

Jamil also hoped that the government will issue an extradition immediately to face legal action in Malaysia since the blogger had ridiculed Islam, to protect the purity of the religion.
