Police are looking for a youth in his 20's suspected of trying to molest a female Year Two pupil at a school in Dungun on Monday.

Dungun police chief Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaakub, when contacted, said the suspect is believed to have climbed the fence at the back of the school to enter the premises that does not have a security guard.

"A recording of a conversation between the complainant, who is the mother of the victim, and the class teacher, has been taken. A video footage of closed circuit television (CCTV) was also inspected...

"Based on preliminary investigations, the victim who has finished school in the morning and was waiting for the afternoon session class, was approached by an unidentified man who asked him to come to the store.

"Without questioning, the suspect followed the victim. Once they reached the store, the victim refused to follow the suspect into the store. The suspect then carried the victim and entered the store," he said on Wednesday .

The girl then screamed for help, panicking the suspect and causing him to release her. He then fled the school premises.



Meanwhile, according to the victim's mother, identified only as Nor, she and her husband rushed to the school after being informed about the incident.

At first, she thought her child was only making a story, but after being shown the CCTV footage, she immediately lodged a police report.

The case was being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for intent to outrage.
