Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's son-in-law, Datuk Syed Alman Zain Syed Alwi, passed away last night at the age of 44.

It was understood that Syed Alman fell unconscious while undergoing dental surgery at a dental clinic in Bangsar.

He was then brought to the University Malaya Medical Centre in Petaling Jaya for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead. The real cause of his death has yet to be confirmed.

His remains has been brought to the Surau An Nur Country Heights and would be buried at the Muslim cemetery in Kajang.

Ahmad Zahid, who is in Osaka, Japan for a five-day visit beginning Sunday was said to be on his way back to Malaysia.

Syed Alman, is married to Ahmad Zahid's eldest daughter, Datuk Nurul Hidayah.

He is the founder of information technology company, i-Gen Technology, apart from being Welfare and Education Fund chairman of Gerakan Belia 4B Shah Alam.
