The installation of the Automated Enforcement System (AES) cameras in selected locations along the East Coast Highway 2 (LPT2) will be a boon for users' safety, said Terengganu Infrastructure, Public Facilities, Energy and Green Technology Rosli Othman.

He said the AES cameras were being installed by PLUS Malaysia Berhad at some stretched including at Chukai, Kijal and Paka.

"It is a government effort to ensure LPT2 users do not drive too fast, thus reducing accident risks.

"The AES cameras installation is to educate road users to be more careful while driving. It is not aimed at penalising them," he told reporters at a breaking-of- the- fast event here Friday.
