Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob today gave a stern warning to Semambu assemblyman Lee Chean Chung for making baseless accusation against him over the sale of the East Coast Mall (ECM) here to a Singapore company.

Adnan said he would sue the PKR assemblyman should Lee continue to link him (Adnan) with the unfounded allegation implying the menteri besar as someone who had been practising corruption.

"I'm giving a stern warning to Semambu (assemblyman)... If he believes so, then go ahead and lodge a report to the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission).

"But, if he continues to repeat the allegation outside the assembly (sitting), I will sue (him)," he said when winding up the debate on the motion of thanks for the royal address at the State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.

Adnan said the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) had 9.8 and 10 per cent stake respectively in the CapitaLand Malaysia Mall Trust, the owner of the ECM.

Recently, Lee, who is also PKR Youth Information chief, had uploaded a posting on his Facebook account claiming that ECM had been sold to Singapore and linking Adnan over the sale of the shopping mall.

The sitting adjourned sine die. -- Bernama
