Four of the late Tan Sri Adenan Satem's children have joined the Tanjong Datu by-election campaign trail, to keep the spirit of their father's legacy going.

Abdul Aziz, Siti Rafidah, Hayatie Hamidah and Azizul Annuar's presence at the launch of the Barisan Nasional manifesto for the constituency yesterday caught the attention of those in attendance.

Aziz said although they were still mourning their father's death, they would campaign wholeheartedly for Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu who is the candidate for Barisan Nasional.

In this regard, his sisters who live in Kuala Lumpur and London had obligingly returned home to provide their support.

Meanwhile, Aziz also expressed his appreciation to the people in Sarawak who had been coming to pay homage to his father at his grave.

"I visit my father's grave everyday and I always see people coming to visit too," he said.

The Tanjong Datu state seat fell vacant following Adenan's death on Jan 11 due to heart complications.

In the 11th State Election last year, Adenan who was Sarawak's fifth chief minister won the seat with a comfortable majority of 6,360 over PKR candidate Jazolkipli Numan who only obtained 468 votes.

The Election Commission set Feb 18 for polling. -- Bernama
