KUALA LUMPUR:The Royal Malaysia Police detained 301 individuals for vIolating the Movement Control Order (MCO) yesterday, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said from those detained, 298 were issued compounds while three were remanded, while the highest recorded offence was 149 for failing to maintain physical distance.

"Other MCO violations include not wearing face masks, with 77 individuals, failure to prepare equipment to record customers’ details (63), entertainment outlet activities (2), and other offences (10).

“For Op Benteng, 31 illegal immigrants and two human traffickers were detained, with six vehicles seized,” he said in a statement regarding the development of the Recovery Movement Control Order here today.

On public sanItisation operations, he said 36 operations were carried out in 14 red zones, four (orange zone), seven (yellow zone) and two (green zone) in nine states and the Federal Territory yesterday.

Meanwhile, until yesterday, 94,967 individuals have returned to Malaysia through international border entry points with 7,362 individuals undergoing mandatory quarantines while 540 individuals were sent to the hospital for treatment.
