The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) arrested 251 individuals for violating the directives of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said out of the total, 111 individuals were remanded while another 140 compounded.

He said among the activities that violate the standard operating procedures (SOPs) include activities in pubs or night clubs (126), activities involving public attendance that make it difficult for social distancing (123) and activities that violate the SOP (2).

"The Compliance Operations Task Force also inspected 4,081 supermarkets, 5,614 restaurants as well as 1,406 hawkers, 1,159 factories, and 2,874 public and farmers markets.

"Yesterday, 3,972 places of worship and 1,432 places of recreation were also inspected," he said at a press conference here on Monday.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the PDRM had also detained four foreign nationals at roadblocks under the Operasi Benteng for immigration offences.

"Through the operation, a total of 67 roadblocks were conducted and 38,421 vehicles inspected to curb the entry of illegal immigrants (PATI), especially in rat trails.

"The government will take decisive action against any person who attempts to illegally enter the country's borders and will not compromise those involved in smuggling of illegal immigrants," he said.
