Twenty four areas in the country recorded moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings while 30 areas registered good API readings at 1pm, Sunday.

According to the Department of Environment's (DOE) website as at 1pm, areas with moderate air quality were Muar with an API reading of 51; Alor Setar (57); Bakar Arang, Sg. Petani (61); Bukit Rambai, Melaka (58); Port Dickson (55); Balok Baru, Kuantan (68); Jalan Tasek, Ipoh (52); Kg. Air Putih, Taiping (52); SK Jalan Pegoh, Ipoh (61); Tanjung Malim (52); Kangar (60); Perai (61); Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) (58); Miri (57); Sibu (54); Banting (55); Port Kelang (71); Petaling Jaya (52); Shah Alam (55); Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (53); Cheras (54) and Putrajaya (51).

An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality, between 51 to 100, moderate, between 101 to 200, unhealthy; between 201 to 300 very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.
