2017 Budget: BR1M assistance to be increased
The increase will benefit seven million households with an allocation of RM6.8 billion.
KUALA LUMPUR: The government will increase the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) assistance to four types of recipients.

This will benefit seven million households with an allocation of RM6.8 billion.
For households in the e-Kasih database with a monthly income of below RM3,000, the BR1M assistance will be increased to RM1,200.

For households earning between RM3,000 and RM4,000, the BR1M assistance will be increased from RM800 to RM900.

While single individuals earning below RM2,000 will receive RM450 from RM400 previously.


The Bereavement Scheme will also be continued with the RM1,000 compensation given to the next-of-kin of BR1M recipients.
