1MDB president Arul Kanda Kandasamy said the company will contact the National Audit Department to seek clarity on documents said not been submitted.

“As requested by the PAC Chairman, we will immediately contact the National Audit Department to seek clarity on which documents the PAC Chairman is referring to,” Arul Kanda said in a press statement today.

“We note in particular, the PAC Chairman’s comments on the thoroughness of the AG's investigation, which included inspecting documents obtained from 1MDB and other parties,” he said.

He also confirmed that all documents in the 1MDB’s possession have been submitted to the department.

“As the interim report has not yet been shared with 1MDB, we are unable to comment on the PAC Chairman’s statement that certain documents appear to have not been submitted,” he said.

PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said 1MDB has not yet handed over important documents needed in the investigations such as bank statements and agreements.

“1MDB needs to fully cooperate especially in terms of its documents so that this report can be finalised by year end," Nur Jazlan said.

The PAC begun its investigative proceedings into the 1MDB scandal on May 19.

Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang said there are still documents that 1MDB has yet to hand over to the department.

He is confident his department will be able to retrieve all the necessary documents from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) to conclude its audit report.

“We are still trying to retrieve all the documents. If the 1MDB is not cooperating, then we will get the documents through other sources,” he told reporters after presenting a preliminary report on 1MDB to the Public Accounts Committee at Parliament House here today.
