Police are still seeking witnesses to assist in investigations relating to 1Malaysia Development Berhad, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

"We need time to detect witnesses...some are local and some not around... some witnesses are available and some are not...it (finding them) takes time.

"We already submitted investigation papers to the Attorney-General, but the AG has returned them to us because we are required to carry out further inquiries," he told reporters after opening the Samsung Smart Library here today.

As the investigations were ongoing, he said, all parties should refrain from any reporting that could be prejudicial.

Khalid said police had completed the first phase of the investigations, based on the report of the bipartisan Public Accounts Committee. -- Bernama
