No deadline has been set by the government for the investigation into 1Malaysia Development Berhad to be completed, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Nancy Shukri.

She said the special task force was still in the midst of obtaining statements from the witnesses involved and acquiring all the related documents.

“No deadline has been set since the case involves many witnesses and a lot of documents including those from overseas.

“The results of the investigation by the special force would be presented to the Attorney-General for further action,” said Nancy in a written statement to the Dewan Rakyat today.

Datuk Zainuddin Ismail (BN-Jelebu) had asked for the government to explain the current status of the special task force established by the Attorney-General to investigate 1MDB and when the report is expected to be completed.

Apart from that he also wanted to know if the government had any plans of tabling the report in parliament.

Nancy explained that the investigation results by the special task force will be presented to the Attorney-General for further action.
