UMNO is investigating who was the individual behind the recording of UMNO deputy president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s speech during a closed-door meeting with party leaders at Institut Latihan Memperkasakan UMNO (ILMU) at Janda Baik, Pahang on Saturday.

UMNO Labour Secretary, Datuk Ab Rauf Yusuf said an investigation led by UMNO vice-president, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is expected to end soon.

“Zahid is conducting a thorough investigation to identify the individual involved in the recording of the clip.

“Clearly, the individual has failed to adhere to the ruling prohibiting any recording to be done during any closed-door meetings, and it’s an offence to distribute the video,” said Ahmad Zahid, when contacted by Astro AWANI, here today.

Muhyiddin: I told PM to sack all 1MDB board

Muhyiddin on Saturday had reportedly called for Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to sack all board of directors from the national strategic investment company, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The video also featured Muhyiddin’s call urging the police to probe the company.

Ab Rauf also said that participants who attended the programme at ILMU should have been well aware of the rules and guidelines by the institution.

“Clearly, no recording should take place there (ILMU), so the individual responsible in disseminating the video had breached the law.

A quick check by Astro AWANI of ILMU Facebook revealed that a series of messages including a ‘selfie’ image had been posted on the social media page.
