Two teenage boys believed to be involved in several robbery cases in the Klang Valley were arrested last Friday.

The boys, aged 14 and 17, were believed to have committed the crime using knives since they dropped out of school early this year.

Wangsa Maju Police deputy chief DSP Mat Zani Che Ali said the duo were picked up at a house and a sundry shop in Jalan Jelatek and had been remanded for seven days to facilitate further investigations.

He said their arrests led the police to three workers at two mobile phone shops in a commercial complex here, who were believed to be selling gadgets robbed by the duo.

"In a raid on the shops, police also seized 34 mobile phones," he told a press conference here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Mat Zani said in a separate raid on a rented shophouse near Pudu here, six other teenagers, including two girls, aged between 17 and 19, believed to be involved in snatch theft cases, were arrested.

Also seized from them were a motorcycles and several women handbags.

Members of the public who had fallen victims to snatch thieves in the city were advised to come to the Wangsa Maju Police headquarters to identify their belongings.
