Thirteen Singaporean tourists and a tour bus driver were injured after the bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident at KM31.3 of the KL-Karak Highway, near Bukit Tinggi, at 4.17pm today.

A Selangor Fire and Rescue Department spokesman, when contacted by Bernama, said the driver of the bus, which was travelling to the federal capital from Genting Highlands, was believed to have lost control of the vehicle and skidded before hitting the wall and overturned.

"Seven firemen in one engine from the Selayang Station rushed to the scene after receiving a call from a member of the public at 4.20pm.

"All the victims were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Sungai Buloh Hospital, Bentong Hospital and Selayang Hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) said the accident caused a 9km traffic jam.

"The accident obstructed all major lanes, and only an emergency lane was open while firemen were removing the bus," he added.
