Twelve areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 8 am today.

According to the Department of Environment's website, the areas were Kuala Selangor with the reading at 155, followed by Nilai (143), Port Klang (137), Banting (134), Putrajaya (124), Bukit Rambai (117), Batu Muda and Seremban (112), Petaling Jaya (107), Shah Alam (103), Sri Aman (101) and Tanjung Malim
(100).

The air quality in three other locations also reaching the unhealthy level, namely Cheras (99), Port Dickson (98) and Bandaraya Melaka (95).

API readings of between 0-50 are considered good, moderate (51-100), unhealthy (101-200), very unhealthy (201-300) and dangerous (exceeding 301).
