The number of residents affected by the flood in Kelantan decreased to 12,064 comprising 4,406 families as of 8am, compared to 12,771 people (4,584 families) last night.

The Social Welfare Department in its infobanjir app said 27 evacuation centres remained open to accommodate the flood victims in Pasir Mas, Tumpat and Pasir Puteh.

Pasir Mas continues to record the highest number of victims with 7,999 comprising 3,108 families who are sheltered at 19 evacuation centres, followed by Tumpat, with 4,038 (1,293 families) who are staying at seven centres.

Another 27 people from five families are staying at a centre in Pasir Puteh.

The state government website, http://ebanjir.kelantan.gov.my said only the water level in Sungai Golok, Rantau Panjang is still at a danger level of 9.47 metres but lower than last night's reading of 9.69m.

The reading for Sungai Kelantan at Jambatan Guillemard, Tanah Merah is 12.62m compared to 12.89m last night, which is below the danger level of 16m.

The water level in other main rivers has returned to normal.
