Initially announced exclusively for Sony's current console, the PlayStation 3, meticulously detailed driving simulator "Gran Turismo 6" seems to be a candidate for eventual emergence on the PlayStation 4, according to director Kaz Yamauchi.

"I think a PlayStation 4 version will appear naturally. We won't keep you waiting too long, but it won't be too soon either," he'd said.

That's according to a conversation with Japanese gaming website 4Gamer, which also asked for his thoughts on the PS4, due for release toward the end of the year.

"It's a good neutral machine," he said, "balanced hardware with no quirks," a statement which could just as equally be taken to refer to the PlayStation 3's more difficult programming architecture -- something that Sony has sought to rectify with the PS4.

A downloadable demo for the PlayStation 3's "Gran Turismo 6" is to be released on July 2, with players able to take a selection of Nissan-manufacturerd vehicles for a spin, part of a sponsorship deal for the series' competitive GT Academy branch.
