A total lunar eclipse will take place and will be visible in much of North and South America as well as Asia on Saturday.

The total lunar eclipse scenario -- also known as 'Blood Moon' -- is expected to first enter the Earth when the moon will be totally eclipsed for five minutes.

It will be the third lunar eclipse in a series of four known as a “tetrad,” following those in April and September, 2014. The final one of the series will occur on September 28, 2015.
