The flood situation in the state has improved much with only 213 evacuees from 51 families still housed at three relief centres.

According to the Sarawak National Security Council, all victims in the Mukah Division which had been one of the badly affected areas, had returned to their respective homes and the relief centre there closed late Wednesday afternoon.

Its spokesman said Betong Division still had 161 evacuees from 31 families staying at two relief centres.

In Sibu Division, the situation is also improving with only 52 evacuees from 20 families housed at one relief centre.
