The total number of flood evacuees in Sarawak fell Monday afternoon to 357 people from 389 people reported this morning.

The reduction was attributed to a relief centre, Balai Raya Skim Skrang in Engkili, Sri Aman being closed at 11am today and all of the 45 evacuees from 15 families sheltered there have returned to their respective homes.

However a floods operations room spokesman from the Betong Division, Shirala Kay, told BERNAMA that the number of evacuees at the Dewan Panglima Rentap relief centre had risen to 93 people as compared to 70 people this morning.

There was no change at the Rumah Henry Lubok Bangsa relief centre in Ulu Krian and Dewan Perpaduan Debak which are still sheltering 75 and 126 people respectively.

In Sarikei, there was slight rise in the number of evacuees at Dewan Masyarakat Pakan, with 63 people from 20 families at noon as compared to 53 people from 16 families in the morning.
