The number of evacuees from the flood-hit areas in Sarawak stood at 828 this morning, up from 822 as of last night.

A spokesman of the Sarawak National Security Council said 814 people from 229 families were being accommodated at three relief centres in Bintulu and 14 from six families at one centre in Miri.

In SABAH, the only relief centre, at the Membakut new hall, was closed at 8am today after the three evacuees there were allowed to return to their homes.

A spokesman of the Beaufort flood operations room said the weather was fine today.
