COMEDIC duo Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are set to join forces yet again for a new film by Sony Pictures titled "Holmes & Watson".

The comedy will see Ferrell and Reilly reunite – following past collaborations "Talladega Nights" and "Step Brothers" – to play Holmes and his sidekick Watson respectively, with the feature to be directed Etan Cohen.

Production on the film is slated to start right after Thanksgiving, with Mosaic and Gary Sanchez attached to produce the script, originally inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes tale, but given a humorous twist.

"Holmes & Watson" marks the latest incarnation of the detective story, with past features including the Guy Ritchie-directed "Sherlock Holmes" franchise, the CBS series "Elementary" with Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu, and the "Sherlock" series, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
