THE singer will develop a series based on the neighborhood popularly known as America's "Black Wall Street".

Based on a true story, the series will focus on Greenwood, a neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma that was nicknamed "Black Wall Street" at the beginning of the 20th century. The area was home to one of the wealthiest black communities in the United States, until the Tulsa race riot broke out in 1921, resulting in a high death toll and the destruction of much of the area.

Entertainment source The Wrap reports that the series is still in the early development stage. This will be the second television project for Legend who currently executive-produces the WGN series "Underground" based on the events of the Underground Railroad.
