KUALA LUMPUR: Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said he is blessed that he got to marry ‘the right woman’.

On the talk show Obviously Harith Iskander Saturday night, the Johor Crown Prince spoke about how his wife, Che Puan Khaleeda Bustamam, was one of the most down-to-earth person he knows.

"She's real. She doesn’t care about brands and such. She’s very, very humble. And she doesn't ask me for anything" he said.

He was answering to Harith's question as to what had made him fall in love with Khaleeda.
He also recalled the time when he first met Khaleeda’s mother, Aziyah Abdul Aziz, before the latter became his mother-in-law.

"Her mother nearly got a heart attack when she found out why her daughter keeps going to Johor. When she told her mother about me, her mom went, 'What? Haven't you heard what they've said about him?'" he said to the audience which then burst into laughter.

Tunku Ismail, fondly known as TMJ, said he then decided to visit Aziyah himself.

“I went to her house in Gombak, I went alone in a normal car. I met her mother, and I told her that I wasn’t playing, that we were in a relationship, and I promised her that I would take care of her daughter.

“I just wanted to give her (Aziyah) that reassurance. Because if I were her, I’d be worried too!” TMJ said.

TMJ added that being a person of his position, he could not imagine what would happen if he had married the wrong woman.
