“When he was alive, Juwie has requested that he would prefer to go peacefully -- no obituaries or personal eulogies written about him” said Nizam, who met Juwie after he started working at Utusan Malaysia.

“Juwie was a humble person, so I totally understand why he wanted this. He also said that he wished to meet his Creator in the purest condition. He only hoped for his friends’ best wishes and prayers,” Nizam added.

Huzaini or popularly known as Huzz, who was a close friend of Juwie, said the loss is greatly felt.

“We started our career in journalism at Utusan publication around the same time. He was a nice person and willing to share his knowledge with his peers. He was my good friend and mentor. Juwie is irreplaceable,” said a distraught Huzz.

For Nor Bahyah, who is fondly known as Kak Bam, Juwie is best remembered as modest and generous.

“He was extremely close to me. He was a down-to-earth and generous person,” said Kak Bam, when met at the Selayang Baru Muslim Cemetery today.

Media friends came in full force to pay their final tribute to Juwie as his remains was buried at the Selayang Baru Muslim Cemetery in Selangor on Saturday at 10.30am.
