The "Blade Runner" sequel will indeed feature Harrison Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard, while Denis Villeneuve ("Prisoners") is in talks to direct.

Deadline announced that Ford, who had previously been asked to appear in the sequel, has been officially confirmed to take part.

Ridley Scott, director of the 1982 cult classic, is executive producing and told Variety back in November that someone else would be in the director's chair.

Deadline now reports that Villeneuve, who recently wrapped up the cartel drama "Sicario," has been tapped to helm the picture.
