On the television show Gotham, Donal Logue plays a hard-driving detective who is tough on crime.

Now, in real life, Logue says he's turning to "dogged" law enforcement investigators to help him solve a troubling family mystery: The disappearance of his teenage daughter, Jade.

The 51-year-old actor filed a missing persons report with the New York City Police Department and is working with "teams from" the FBI to help him track down the missing 16-year-old.

The teenager was last seen near the Barclays Center in Brooklyn about 2 p.m. on June 26, police told ABC News.

Logue publicized his family's desperate search and asked for his daughter's safe return - "no questions asked" - on Facebook and Twitter over the weekend, where the message was shared thousands of times. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children also posted photos and information about Jade on Facebook.

The center noted that the teenager is also known as "Arlo Logue."

"This is my daughter, Jade. It's one of my favorite photos of her taken from a happier time (thanks, Natasha Cotroneo)," he wrote on Facebook alongside a photo of Jade. "I love all people and have met tons, but honestly (I'm biased) there's never been a more loving, innocent, cuddly child than Jade. I love her and who she is and her tribe is strong (I've met many wonderful people through Jade), but there are some predators who swim among their ranks knowing they're dealing with sweet, trusting souls. We want you home Jade."

"Whoever knows where she is, whoever may be with her - clearly this thing has become big and crazy," he continued. "The point is, you may have had good intentions to help her, but I'm sure you realize that this situation is bigger than you could've anticipated."

"It's OK, just drop her off," he added. "Let her get back in touch with her mother, Kasey, or me - and we'll take her back, with hugs and no questions asked."

On Twitter, Logue, Kasey Smith - who is Jade's mother - and other celebrities pleaded with the missing teenager to "come home" if she was able to see their messages.

"Please know that we're looking for you and we want you home," Smith said. "Please contact us."

Kasey noted that Jade is transgender, but told viewers that her daughter's gender identity "does not matter here."

Danny Trejo, a well-known character actor who has appeared in numerous films, also issued a plea for Jade's return on Twitter and seemed to hint at a complicated situation involving multiple parties. Trejo and Logue have been friends since they starred in "Reindeer Games" in 2000, according to E News.

"It's gotten a lot bigger than you thought," he said. "I know you don't want to get the people that you're dealing with in trouble, so please just drop her off. There will be no questions asked.

Rosie O'Donnell linked to a story about Jade and included a one-word message on Twitter: "Praying."

Sean Pertwee, who co-stars on Gotham with Logue, also posted a message on Twitter asking for help:

"Please help find my dear friend @ donallogue much loved child Jade. If anyone has any information please contact the authorities immediately," he wrote.
