IF you’ve been religiously stalking your crush or your significant other’s Instagram activity, well you can longer do so soon.

According to Buzzfeed, effective this week, Instagram will be removing the ‘following’ tab for good.

Vishal Shah, Instagram’s head of product, told BuzzFeed that the feature wasn’t used frequently and the company suspects that many are unaware of its existence.

But for those who do, the list of activities found can sometimes be an unpleasant surprise (read: girlfriends finding out their boyfriends dodgy Instagram activities which can be the beginning of World War III).

“People didn’t always know that their activity is surfacing,” Shah told the website.

“So, you have a case where it’s not serving the use case you built it for, but it’s also causing people to be surprised when their activity is showing up."

The following tab was first introduced on the social media app back in 2011.

Besides the following tab update, Instagram has recently introduced a dark mode feature to match your soul.

Well, the removal marks the end of the stalking activity era on Instagram as well as the activities we wish we didn’t see or knew.
