Cher has had one of the most varied careers in showbiz. Starting off as part of the duo Sonny & Cher, she's had huge musical solo hits, won awards including an Oscar for her film acting and long before Lady Gaga she was shocking people with her outrageous outfits.

Now, she's starting a new Las Vegas residency called 'Classic Cher' which will show off all her different styles - not reinventions - over her 50 year career.

"People would go 'Oh my god, she reinvented herself' and I never understand that. I just never understand that because I've never reinvented anything. I mean, I'm the wheel. I couldn't reinvent it."

Aside from her music and film career, Cher has been known recently for her visceral tweets against a presidential candidate.

"He has said things that are so base and so vile and so without respect for humanity, the basic respect you have for basic humanity, you know and nothing is beneath him and lies mean nothing to him and women mean nothing to him and America means nothing to him. I have no respect for him, I can't find any respect for him in any way."

And if you were wondering how you get such a varied and long career as Cher, she has some advice.

"Just do it. Put one foot in front of the other and never give up because I know so many people if you looked at them on paper they wouldn't have looked like they would have amounted to anything and yet some of the greatest stars have come from what doesn't look good on paper."

'Classic Cher' will begin at the Park Theater at Monte Carlo in Las Vegas in February.
