KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and television host Ary Malik, 46, passed away at 7.17pm today, according to her husband Shahrul Nizam Shaharuddin.

It was reported a week ago that Ary whose real name is Nurita Maliha Aryanee Abdul Malik, was in critical condition with fourth stage ovarian cancer and being treated at the Ampang Hospital.

Her illness was detected in May last year when she was undergoing treatment to remove a tumour in her stomach at the Tuanku Mizan Hospital, Wangsa Maju.

The doctors also detected fourth stage ovarian cancer, and she immediately underwent chemotherapy.
Ary’s has three children, Nurh Zoe Iman Malik, 19, Dinda Pelangi Timor Malik, 13, and Ratu Chinta Mecca Malik, 11.
