BONE up on secret agent thriller "Jason Bourne," with Matt Damon returning for his fourth film in the franchise as the highly trained, very deadly international amnesiac super-agent, driven by an unquenchable desire to uncover the truth against all odds.

Who's in it and what's it about?

In hiding for years, Matt Damon's Jason Bourne is up against a new program designed to snuff him out.
Tommy Lee Jones is introduced as CIA Director Robert Dewey, with Alicia Vikander ("Ex Machina") one of his agents and French actor Vincent Cassel ("Mesrine," "Ocean's Twelve,") the specialist assigned to hunting down Bourne.

Riz Ahmed ("Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,") Scott Shepherd ("Bridge of Spies") and Ato Essandoh ("Django Unchained") are among other newcomers installed as CIA operatives, while Julia Stiles is once more Bourne's ex-handler and confidant Nicky Parsons.

Who's behind it?

After both Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass (of "Bourne" films 2 and 3) skipped 2012's "The Bourne Legacy," the pair are back in business for "Jason Bourne."

Frequent Greengrass collaborator, cinematographer Barry Ackroyd, gets his first shot at a Bourne film, with the editor of "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum," Christopher Rouse, now co-writing alongside the director.

When's it out?

Following mid-July premiere screenings in the UK, France and USA, "Jason Bourne" follows on from a July 27 debut in the UK, Ireland, South Korea and the Philippines with international openings throughout the week: from July 28 in Brazil, Hong Kong, Israel, the Netherlands, Singapore and more, and from July 29 in the US and Canada, Spain, Vietnam and others.

Debuts in Argentina (August 4), France and Belgium (August 10), Germany (August 11) and China (August 23) are scheduled for the next month, with Russia set for September 1 and Japan for October 7.

Is it any good?

Early reviews have not been the kindest -- a 57% average at Metacritic mirrored by a 58% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though RT's Top Critics were more enthused (75%) -- but over 1,900+ user ratings on IMDb suggest that audiences had a great time with it, contributing a combined 8.9/10 score.
