1) Julia Roberts (2001)
Julia Roberts struck gold with this black and white column number at the 73rd Academy Awards in 2001. This dress garnered major praises by fashion critiques and deserve our number one spot for the best Oscar dress. It is a vintage 1992 design from Valentino which intended to exude the classic or retro Hollywood glamour.

2) Cameron Diaz (2010)
Though she was not up for any award, Cameron Diaz brought the word opulent to a different height in this breathtaking gold dusted strapless Oscar de la Renta gown.

3) Charlize Theron (2004)
It was 2004. It’s a huge win for Charlize Theron and her dress when she took home the Best Actress award (for Monster) as she adorned a simple yet embellished, beaded, low-cut neckline and open-back, Gucci gown that shimmered ever so sultry that complemented her incredibly-toned body and bronzed skin. The gown took a classic floor-skimming silhouette, and added impact with a plunging backless cut and draping train. And to top it off - a slick 40s'-style curls.

4) Gwyneth Paltrow (1999)
She dazzled on the red carpet so sweetly at the 1999 Academy Awards when she made the wise choice reliving fashion icon Grace Kelly’s classic style with a pastel-pink taffetta gown by Ralph Lauren

5) Cate Blanchet (1999)
This is the point when Cate Blanchet became a trendsetter and defines effortless chic with her style. She wore a custom-made knitted and embroidered John Galliano creation. Whilst the rest of the world accentuated their front, Cate decided to focus the attention on her back that is sheer, complete with intricate detail of delicately embroidered flowers and hummingbirds.

6) Audrey Hepburn (1953)
Audrey Hepburn’s iconic Givenchy dress became an iconic when she went on stage accepting the Best Actress Oscar for Roman Holiday in 1953. The delicate flowers adorning the fabric seemed to blend in well with her elf-like petite features. Her look was decent yet elegant and sexy at the same time.

7) Renee Zelwegger (2001)
Another vintage, old Hollywood glamour that deserve the fashion hall of fame woud be Renee Zelwegger’s fruity and bright yet risky yellow number by Lily et Cie. Her smacking red lipstick and 1940’s soft curls was oh-so-sensational!

8) Kate Hudson (2003)
Kate Hudson glowed brighter than diamonds when she wore a Versace to the Oscars. Not just a typical Versace gown, this one took 500 hours to create, and was comprised of hand-made gold chiffon silk. You can always count on Hudson to perfect any look. This one is with glowing make-up, vintage style gems and soft updo.

9) Anne Hathaway (2008)
Over the years, Marchessa has been one of the most popular choices that are so red carpet-worthy. My favourite red carpet Marchesa would be Anne Hathaway’s. The sexy red and the intricacy of this draped asymmetric gown stole the show in 2008.

10) Marion Cotillard (2008)
They say no one can do it better than the French when it comes to fashion. Marion Cotillard proved this point right when she came to the Oscars looking like a stunning sea creature. Kudos to the dazzling white and silver mermaid dress that has curve-skimming fishtail frock and shimmering scales by John Paul Gaultier.
