Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) today announced Datuk Johan Abdullah as its new Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The two positions are currently being held by Tan Sri Ismee Ismail who will be handing over his duties to Johan effective July 1, 2016.

TH chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim also said that TH Board of Directors had agreed that Johan will be assuming the duties of acting CEO from May 16.

“This handing over by Tan Sri Ismee is in line with TH’s Succession Plan which has been put in place since January 2015.

"Tan Sri Ismee’s extraordinary vision and leadership has significantly contributed towards TH many successes, earning recognition and respect worldwide," he said in a statement on Thursday.

Abdul Azeez also thanked Ismee for his leadership throughout his more than ten-year tenure, as TH has undergone successful transformation that had resulted in increased profitability.”

Johan joined TH on 15 January 2015 as Deputy Group Managing Director and CEO.

Before that, he was the Group Managing Director and CEO, BIMB Holdings Berhad.

Johan holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Morehead State University, and a bachelors degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Eastern Michigan University, both from the United States.
