Shell Malaysia today confirmed that 230 of its retail stations were operating normally, accepting cash and credit card transactions.

"Most other stations are accepting cash payments," it said in a statement in response to the technical difficulties that affected credit card transactions at Shell stations, nationwide, since 1am today.

While apologising for the inconvenience caused to motorists who were unable to fill up their tanks, as a result of the disruption, Shell said it was currently working around the clock to resolve the matter.

"We are working with our IT vendor to identify the root cause and extent of the issue," the statement added. -- Bernama
