The Sarawak’s Chief Minister Office has announced that Sim Kheng Boon has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the newly created Sarawak Development Bank Berhad (DBOS).

Keng Boon, 62, was appointed with a unanimous vote of confidence from the board of directors of DBOS, which is chaired by the State Secretary, Tan Sri Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani.

Other board members in DBOS includes Sharkawi Alis, Christopher Adrian and the acting State Financial Secretary, Datu Laura Lee Ngien Hion.

The formation of DBOS was announced on August 1st and will begin operations beginning January 1st next year.

Kheng Boon is a Sarawakian who holds a degree from the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He is also a member with the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.

He holds over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. He has previously served as the Executive Director of Kenanga Investment Bank from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, he served with AmBank AmInvestment Bank for over three decades.

His last post at AmInvestment was the Director for the Sarawak Region. He joined the bank in 1983.

He also served as an Independent Director for Zecon Bhd before retiring recently.
