Participants involved in the eUsahawan 2016 programme have generated an income of over RM12.66 million through the digital campaign, #YOUCANDUIT, managed by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

In a statement today, MDEC said the campaign was targeted to achieve an income of RM21 million this year.

The #YOUCANDUIT campaign, launched in March this year, is a digital platform to help improve the people and nation's economic status especially via two programmes – eRezeki and eUsahawan.

MDEC vice-president, Corporate Affairs Department, Razaleigh Zainal, said the main objective of the campaign was to introduce eUsahawan and eRezeki programmes which had proven to help in generating additional income.

"Through such programmes, the country's aspiration to popularise the digital economy and increase personal economic status would be achieved through the digital platform," he said.

The eUsahawan programme is an initiative by MDEC to institutionalise the digital entrepreneurship via technical and vocational education and training which are aimed at upgrading local graduates from being job seekers to job creators.

Meanwhile, the eRezeki programme had raked in an additional income of more than RM6.9 million for the participants compared with RM15 million targeted for this year.
