Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia have come to the aid of affected Rayani Air passengers due to the suspension of its operations.

Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) in a statement today said the affected passengers can re-book their travel arrangements and a discount will be offered for their journey.

The airline offered discounts from today until April 30 for travels until July 31, 2016.

MAB Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Simmons, said as the national carrier, it was their responsibility to lend a helping hand to ease the affected passengers' burden.

He said passengers must show the email from Rayani Air as proof of their flight booking to be eligible for the discount.

Passengers can also call 1300 88 300 or visit any MAB counter nationwide for more details.

Meanwhile, AirAsia also offered a 50 percent discount for Rayani Air passengers whose tickets were cancelled.

The discount can be used for travels to or from Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Kota Bharu, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu between today and April 27, 2016.

Discounts can be used by all passengers who have confirmed their Rayani Air flight bookings by presenting their tickets at the AirAsia Travel and Service Centres, the low cost carrier's Head of Commercial, Spencer Lee said.

He hoped the discount could facilitate the travel for Rayani Air passengers.
