Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim is the right replacement for Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz as Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Governor in ensuring continuity in the measures undertaken by her, particularly in overcoming the declining ringgit.

Persatuan Tunas Usahawan Belia Terengganu (PATUT) vice president, Norfuzilawati Yusoff said Muhammad's appointment was also apt, as he was a senior figure in the BNM leadership.

"He has shown his capabilities through the 32 years of service with BNM, including the six years as Deputy Governor.

"Zeti is also to be congratulated for placing BNM and the country on a high pedestal at the international level with her efficient management and this also earned her an accolade as being among the world's best central bank Governors," she added.

Norfuzilawati, on behalf of PATUT, expressed the hope that the new Governor would ensure flexible financing for SMEs, especially young entrepreneurs, at a lower interest rate.
