MASwings is to suspend its thrice-weekly service between Kuching and Pontianak in Indonesia on Feb 1.

The airline said today the suspension was part of its network rationalisation plan with the intention to concentrate on the growing domestic routes, its core market.

The last flight to Pontianak will be on Jan 30, it said in a statement.

The airline said all affected passengers were being notified via email, SMS blast and calls and they were being given the option to change their travel date to an earlier date subject to seat availability or be given a full refund.

MASwings said it regretted the inconvenience caused and gave the assurance that all bookings on the affected dates would be honoured.

Customers may visit MASwings ticket offices, call their respective travel agents or contact Malaysia Airlines’ 24-hour call eentre at 1300 88 3000 (within Malaysia) and +6 03 7843 3000 (outside Malaysia) or +561 6726845 for the Pontianak office.
